ABOUT OUR TOUR

Our combination full day Dili sightseeing tour and the Northwest Panorama route promises a thorough look into Timor-Leste’s past, present and future. You’ll visit and learn about some of the city’s top sights including Cristo Rey, Chega! And the markets for a glimpse of everyday life in the Capital of Dili. After lunch, continuing with the Northwest Panorama tour heads out of Dili along the coastline towards Maubara, an historic Dutch fort overlooking the ocean. You’ll visit and learn about Tasi Tolu (3 seas), Peace Park where East Timor declared its independence in 2002, the Pope John Paul II statue, Ai Pelo prison, the town of Liquica and the fort.

Dili & Northwest Panorama Tours" (Dili-Railaco-Liquiça-Maubara)

  • Pick up from Hotel at 08:00 am, visit Cristo Rey statue, Area Branca with sand beach,
  • Motael church & the 1991 massacre memorial statue
  • Walk around Santa Cruz cemetery and learn about its history
  • Learn about Timor-Leste’s past at Chega! Prison museum (Mon – Fri)
  • Visit the Resistance museum (Tues – Sat)
  • Watch the women weavers at Alola Esperanca women’s weaving workshop and shop
  • Stroll around the Taibessi fruit and vegetable market
  • Lunch at Dilicious Timor or Ahi Matan restaurant
  • Tasi Tolu (3 salty lakes), Peace Park and Pope John Paul II’s statue, where the independent declared in May 2022
  • The Portuguese ruins of Ai Pelo and its history
  • Portuguese former small town of and the church massacre in 1999
  • Maubara Salt lake and its  stunning view
  • Maubara Dutch fort and its history. Browse and buy traditional Timor crafts and women woven baskets, jewellery at the nearby market.
  • Return to Dili at 17:30pm
